Well, I am not much of a blogger, but I will try. Who knows, maybe it will be a good thing. I am a wife and mom of three beautiful kids, Jake, Kali, and Kayla. I have an exchange student for this year and am looking forward to host again next year. I am happy to answer questions about that one. So, let's start with my family.

I am married to Steve and we will celebrate our 10th anniversary on February 27th. He is my second husband and while we are not perfect, I do believe that this time around, I did the right thing. I don't believe that for the first time around. We never should have been married and I am reminded of that every time I have to deal with him.

Jake is 12, in middle school and loves soccer. Kali is 7, in grade school and competes in poms and does other types of dance. Kay if 4 and will compete in poms this spring. I only am letting her compete because it will put her on the same schedule as her sister and they learn different types of dance in that one program so that makes it easier for us to plan and actually comes out cheaper.

We have had an eventful school year with our exchange student. He is from China and is not very studious. We spend many evenings arguing with him just to do his homework. My other kids are pretty good with doing their work, but Kali will hide work that needs to be done and then "forget" to bring it back to school when it is due. But we are working on that.

As a family, we like to travel, but by car so we stay in the U.S. We like to go to historical sites with the kids so they not only learn something, but have fun. I think that for their ages, they have already seen alot. They have been to civil war battlefields, plantations, Colonial Williamsburg, Washington DC, St. Louis, Springfield IL to see Lincoln's grave and home. West Virginia was just absolutely beautiful and we love to spend time in Northern Wisconsin just relaxing in the woods. We are planning on taking them to Washington DC and to New York this year.

So that is about it for now. You now know a bit about us and how we operate as a family. I will try to come back and update you soon.
